Travel & Accommodations
Our game is hosted at Camp Bluebonnet Shores, a Girl Scouts of Texas campsite in Belton, Texas.
What is the address of your site?
14750 Camp Kachina Rd, Belton, TX 76513
The camp site is a well known location, and you should be able to easily find driving directions on any service like Google Maps or Apple Maps.
What amenities does your site offer?
Bluebonnet Shores is a fully-functional Girl Scout camp site with clean running water, an industrial kitchen, climate controlled cabins, and lots of open air cabin space and well maintained trails. Tenting areas are also available, and we offer an additional CAPs reward for those that choose to bring their own tents.
The majority of beds available on the site are platform beds with a foam mattress topper, a little smaller than twin sized. We recommend players bring additional blankets, sleeping bags, or sheets to put over the mattresses, and air mattresses or other padding can improve the quality of your sleep.
Each of these open air cabins sleeps about 4 people, plus room for an air mattress. Most open air cabins do not have access to electricity.
Our site has kitchen access, microwave access, refrigerator access in most major cabins, and a very nice shower building in the center of the camp with hot water and private bathroom stalls. There are other open air shower buildings, but these are much more primitive.
There are many fire pits around the site, but you must watch any fire and extinguish it after use. We may have a prohibition against campfires if the local county has declared a burn ban. Pay attention to our social media pages prior to the event, as we will announce any Burn Bans in advance.
What’s the nearest Airport?
Dallas (DFW/is about three and a half hours from the site, and offers two major airports at DFW International Airport and Dallas Love Field. Rental cars are generally available from all of the major vendors for the trip south, and you can seek out ride share options on our Discord server under #travel-planning
Austin (AUS) is the closet airport to our site, with the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport available for arrivals. Austin City Limits is a large music festival that will be taking place in Austin on the same weekend as Downfall. If you plan on flying into Austin, we recommend purchasing plane tickets and car rentals as soon as possible.

1:30pm - 2:30pm Personal Site Cleanup Everyone cleans up their sleeping areas and moves all their stuff to their transportation in the parking lot. This is done by area and group, and will also include straightening up that area, sweeping, mopping, or other minor housekeeping tasks. Once everyone in the area is done, a Guide who stays in your sleeping area will inspect the area and sign off on your Character Sheet that you have completed your personal cleanup. and you will turn your sheet in to the Gamerunners on the porch of Cedar Cabin. After this point you are free to go!
2:30pm Afters! This is optional, but many folks will go to local eateries to hang out and share food and stories. The general favorite is Dynasty Chinese in Temple, TX.
Where can I sleep?
This webpage explains more about the areas of our campsite and what sort of bunks are available.
The Bluebonnet Shores site easily sleeps about 150 folks, plus tents brought by players. All bunks are first-come, first-served, with the exception of the Medical Sleep Cabin where priority will be given to folks who need electricity for CPAP and other machines, or who must be undisturbed during sleep (out of game sleep). If you need Medical Sleep, you must email us in advance at info@dystopiarisingtx.com. The medical cabin, labeled OAK CABIN on our camp maps, is also a non-combat zone after dark due to the large amount of rocky terrain around this building.
Our new players have a dedicated cabin called REDBUD CABIN on our camp maps. If you are a new player or within your first three games, you are invited to sleep in this cabin. This cabin has access to a refrigerator, microwave, and is climate controlled. Threats visit this cabin, but are scaled down to an appropriate level for new players. To ensure a positive experience for our new players, we ask folks choose not to sleep in this cabin until after Thursday at 8pm.
Our third climate controlled cabin shares space with the Post Office, labeled CEDAR CABIN on our camp maps. Beds in this building are first come, first served and tend to fill quickly.
The remaining beds available on the site are platform beds with a foam mattress topper, a little smaller than twin sized. We recommend players bring additional blankets, sleeping bags, or sheets to put over the mattresses, and air mattresses or other padding can improve the quality of your sleep. Each of these cabins sleeps about 4 people, plus room for an air mattress. They are open air cabins and do not have access to electricity or climate control. You find these cabins in the SAGE HUTS, HONEYSUCKLE HUTS, and the WILDFLOWER TENT areas on our camp maps.
Because we can’t guarantee medical cabin bunks will be available, players who need to sleep out-of-character can get a note on their character sheet at check-in. We recommend placing a sign above your bunk with a green or orange glowstick at night to indicate that you would prefer not to be targeted during nighttime combat and other modules. If you require additional accommodations, there are several hotels and airbnb locations nearby.
TENTS & SLEEPING
We will not raid tents between the hours of 4am and 8am. This includes raids from NPCs or PCs. When we raid a tent we will ask the players inside to come out; we do this to protect players and property. Players have sixty seconds to exit their tent, at which point they can respond to the attack. Players who do not exit their tent in sixty seconds will resume play in bleed-out, simulating that the characters were taken by surprise and could not defend themselves.
OUT OF GAME SLEEP
If you require out-of-game sleep, we have a cabin set aside for that purpose (The Dogsrun/Wigwam on our map). However, in the event that this building reaches heavy capacity we will give preference to players with a doctor's note. If you want to sleep anywhere other than a tent out-of-character, please submit a doctor’s note which says that you require special sleep accommodations and you can safely participate in the events themselves.
Please scan and send this note to info@dystopiarisingtx.com. With that note on file, you will receive a sign off from our Logistics Coordinator that you can show to staff indicating that you are sleeping out-of-game and you cannot be attacked.
SMOKING policy
Our site is a non-smoking campus. Players cannot smoke cigarettes, pipes, cigars, or charcoal hookahs while on the camp grounds, which includes the parking lot all the way to the main road. Players are able to smoke if the means is electronic, such as a vape or an electronic hookah. This is a zero-tolerance policy and you will be asked to leave or be barred from attending future events for violations of this policy.
Alcohol & Drug Policy
Our site is a non-alcohol and non-drug campus. Players cannot bring or consume alcoholic beverages while on the camp grounds, which includes the parking lot. Players may not abuse drugs, prescription drugs, or other illegal or controlled substances while on the camp grounds, including the parking lot. This is a zero-tolerance policy and you will be asked to leave or be barred from attending future events for violations of this policy.
