NO-CONTACT POLICY

Sometimes, people just don’t get along. Whether it’s the result of a breakup, a falling out, or simply a clash of personalities, we understand that not everyone will want to interact. At Dystopia Rising: Texas, our No-Contact Policy exists to help players coexist in shared spaces while maintaining the boundaries they need to feel safe and comfortable.

As our friends at Dystopia Rising: New Jersey put it, this policy functions a bit like the “block” button on social media or in a video game.

How it Works

  • All parties involved will receive official notice via email from a Director or Owner at DR:TX, and will be asked to confirm acknowledgment.

  • Once active, there will be no interaction between the individuals involved—in-character, out-of-character, or as NPCs—within any DR:TX event or sanctioned space, including our Discord.

  • The policy applies equally to both parties and is intended to create necessary space—not escalate conflict.

  • If one party enters a scene where the other is already actively involved (e.g., faith meetings), the new arrival should step away and/or engage with a different part of the scene.

  • Using others to communicate or interact on your behalf will be considered a violation of the policy and treated as a form of harassment.

How it Doesn’t Work

The No-Contact Policy is not a legal solution, and it is not designed for situations involving threats to personal safety.

If your concern involves harassment, stalking, assault, or similar issues, please reach out immediately. We will work with you to identify additional steps and support systems.

This policy is enforceable only within official DR:TX spaces — our live events, our Discord server, and other sanctioned platforms. If you're traveling to one of our events and need to make us aware of a current No-Contact policy, please email us.

We cannot monitor or control interactions that happen on personal social media, in off-site gatherings, or during your personal time. If you need protection beyond our scope, we encourage you to contact your local authorities or support services.

Accountability

Violating a No-Contact agreement will be treated as harassment and may result in corrective action. You can learn more about those actions here: https://www.dystopiarisinglive.com/corrective-actions

This includes attempting to work around the policy or using others to create pressure, conflict, or stir friction.

The No-Contact Policy is designed to help participants maintain healthy boundaries and avoid interpersonal conflict. However, it is not a substitute for a harassment report, nor is it the only tool we will use to address serious concerns.

We want to be clear:

If someone violates a No-Contact agreement, attempts to circumvent it using other people, or uses it to target or harass someone, it will be treated as harassment under our community standards.

These cases will be met with serious consequences, including potential removal from events and suspension of participation. The goal of the No-Contact Policy is to de-escalate tension, protect mental and emotional well-being, and create a safer space for everyone in our community. It must be used in good faith to function as intended. The purpose of this policy is to offer mutual space — not to punish, isolate, or escalate. It’s a tool for community safety and player comfort. If you feel this boundary would improve your experience at game, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support you.
